Boilers are widely used across various industries, playing a crucial role in our food production, clothing manufacturing, housing, and transportation. As high‑temperature, high‑pressure thermal‑energy equipment, pressure gas boilers are classified as specialized machinery that sees extensive application. If not operated with due care or if misused, they can easily suffer damage and lead to serious consequences. Many users have questions about the proper procedures for operating pressure gas boilers; Zhongjie has specially prepared answers for you.

I. The boiler shall not be operated at overpressure.

Since the allowable pressure of a pressurized gas boiler has been precisely determined through accurate calculations, the boiler must not exceed this specified pressure range. Moreover, boilers operating at different pressures require varying wall thicknesses and inspection standards; failure to strictly adhere to these regulations could result in severe consequences for over‑pressurized boilers.

II. Strictly adhere to boiler operating procedures.

Depending on the pressure, gas-fired boilers are classified as high-pressure boilers and atmospheric-pressure boilers, and there are certain differences between the two. Specifically, the manufacturing standards and inspection methods used for atmospheric-pressure boilers are not suitable for high-pressure boilers; such boilers are directly connected to the atmosphere and always operate at zero pressure. Therefore, a high-pressure gas-fired boiler cannot be converted into an atmospheric-pressure boiler, as doing so could lead to serious consequences.

III. Boiler safety accessories are indispensable.

Pressure‑rated gas-fired boilers are equipped not only with safety devices such as water level gauges, pressure gauges, and safety valves, but also with water level alarms and overpressure alarms. These components and devices enable the boiler to “communicate” with operators; therefore, safety accessories are indispensable for gas-fired boilers. They help operators promptly and accurately detect abnormal conditions, ensuring the boiler’s safe and reliable operation and preventing serious incidents such as explosions. It is essential to clean the water level gauge regularly each day to prevent blockages, inspect the pressure gauge and safety valve on schedule, and conduct proper venting tests.
