Safety Operating Procedures for Gas-Fired Boilers

Pre‑ignition checks for a gas boiler: 1. The boiler, the blower, and the boiler circulation pump must be in good working order. 2. Safety devices (such as pressure gauges, water level indicators, and the boiler’s explosion‑proof doors) must be complete, responsive, and reliable. 3. The hot water tank’s water level should be above two-thirds of the tank’s height (but below the overflow outlet), and the boiler’s water level must be full. 4. Ensure the flue is unobstructed and open the induced draft fan damper. 5. Verify that the natural gas supply system is functioning properly—check that gas pressure is normal and that the gas–liquid separator has been drained—and open the manual gas valve, confirming there are no leaks. Gas boiler ignition and startup: 1. Start the boiler’s induced draft fan and ventilate for 20 minutes. 2. Press the start button to activate the burner nozzle. Step one: blow out the furnace for 5 minutes; after 5 minutes, ignition will occur automatically. Observe whether ignition is successful. If successful, run at low fire for one minute, then automatically switch to high fire, and finally start the induced draft fan for normal operation. (Automatic sequence.) 3. During operation, perform regular inspections every half hour, focusing on the following key points: a) Whether the natural gas flow and pressure are stable; b) Whether the motor‑driven burner is operating normally and if there is any unusual noise from the motor; c) Whether the furnace flame is normal; d) Whether the boiler’s hot water circulation pump is functioning properly (perform a manual test); e) Whether the boiler pressure is within the normal range (normal pressure, with adjustment limits: high‑pressure shutdown, low‑pressure start); f) Whether the induced draft fan is operating correctly and if the motor is making any abnormal sounds. 4. Under normal operating conditions, the burner requires no manual intervention; all transitions between low and high fire are performed automatically according to the preset settings. The burner also features manual controls for switching to high or low fire, allowing heat output to be adjusted manually as needed. (Start/stop via Fire‑fighting Switch No. 2.) Shutting down the gas boiler: 1. The furnace shall be started and stopped periodically in accordance with production requirements. 2. Press the stop button to shut down the burner, then close the pipeline gas supply valve.
