Miura Boiler: Must Safety Hazards Be Checked When Operating Boilers?

If we are using Miura boilers, we must immediately halt operations in any areas where faults are detected and conduct thorough inspections. Otherwise, should a safety incident occur, the resulting consequences could be extremely severe. So, what specific safety risks should we address and eliminate?
1. Security risks of operating and igniting the system software
1) Internal leakage in the burner: If there is a leak within the burner valve, the burner’s built-in leak detector may become ineffective, or the burner may not be equipped with a leak detector at all. This allows flammable gases to enter the furnace, and ignition can then trigger an explosion. This is one of the key causes of the Miura boiler explosion.
2) Insufficient ignition: This is caused by improper air–fuel ratio operation in the burner, which fails to ignite the natural gas. Carbon monoxide (CO) can accumulate as a gas, leading to CO poisoning in the boiler room clinic.
3) Dry‑firing: If the low‑water‑level alarm and the ultra‑low‑water‑level interlock protection fail, the boiler can easily dry out. Without prompt emergency measures, improper power supply may lead to a boiler explosion.
2. Gas leakage in the Miura boiler room or flue gas pipeline, leading to poisoning or explosion.
3. The safety risks associated with the safety accessories of the Miura boiler include valves, thermometers, pressure gauges, smart water meters, and others; failure to perform regular maintenance as required or to conduct timely blowdown tests can render these safety components and instruments inoperative.
4. The Miura boiler is operated at its rated working pressure. Operating the boiler beyond its rated pressure will inevitably cause damage to the equipment and may even pose serious safety risks to personnel.
